Pentacam

In July of 2008 our office acquired a Pentacam, The most advanced diagnostic analyzing devise for the examination of the optical surfaces of the front of the eye.

With the complexities associated with the numerous vision corrective procedures it has been identified that understanding the inner optics of the eyes optical surfaces is instrumental in deciding who is a candidate for what type of Laser Vision Correction (LV) operation or Premium Implant.

Without even needing eye drops a simple Pentacam scan of the eye allows us to describe the front contours, back contours, thickness between from and back contours as well as a host of other information about the optical nature of our patients’ eyes.

In addition to the important optical information we obtain from the Pentacam it help delineate information of associated structures and help clarify other disease conditions:
