Glaucoma is an eye disease in which pressure inside the eye (intraocular pressure) rises dangerously high, damaging the optic nerve and causing vision loss.

Glaucoma usually affects peripheral vision (side vision) before it damages central (reading) vision. Proper glaucoma care involves periodic analysis of the peripheral vision.
